CHI Au Pair USA Program Fees and Costs
Your program dollar goes a long way by having a screened, experienced and legal international au pair who brings cultural enrichment into your home.
Spring Promotion for Host Families:
"Complete Host Family application by May 31st, pay only $100.00 for your application fee and get $350.00 additional discount in our program".
1. STANDARD FEES - Option 1
Basic Program Fee Payment Due Amount
Application fee due with application $300.00
Placement fee due upon matching $3,209.00
Department of Homeland Security Fee due upon matching $35.00
Program fee balance 30-days prior to au pair's arrival $3,198.00
TOTAL PROGRAM FEES   $6,742.00
2. PAYMENT PLAN - Option 2
Basic Program Fee Payment Due Amount
Application fee due with application $300.00
Placement fee due upon matching $3,209.00
Department of Homeland Security Fee due upon matching $35.00
Installment 1 due 2 months after au pair's arrival $864.00
Installment 2 due 3 months after au pair's arrival $864.00
Installment 3 due 4 months after au pair's arrival $864.00
Installment 4 due 6 months after au pair's arrival $864.00
* This payment option includes a $ 258.00 administrative fee and is payable by credit card only.
TOTAL PROGRAM FEES   $7,000.00
Program fees include: Pre-screened au pair profiles for your review and selection; J-1 visa documentation; round-trip international airfare; domestic transportation from U.S. orientation city to host community, 12-months of medical insurance; au pair orientation and childcare safety training; host family orientation; program support, supervision and assistance. Additional costs: In addition to the program fee, additional costs required by the U.S. Department of State and CHI Au Pair USA include the au pair's:
• Weekly stipend of $157.95
• Educational component tuition of up to $500.00
• Automobile insurance coverage
• Private room and board
"An increase in the federal minimum wage has been signed into law recently and will result in an increase of an au pair's weekly stipend. This increase will be phased in over the next two years.
Therefore, host families will be required to pay the following weekly stipend to their au pair:
As of July 24, 2007         $157.95
As of July 24, 2008         $176.85
As of July 24, 2009         $195.75
The increases in the stipend affect all Au Pairs currently in the country as well as those who arrive after these changes go into effect."


Discounts & Incentives
A family can take advantage of one of the following discounts applied to the options below per year:
- Application fee $150.00
- Discount for full fee or payment plan $375.00

"Thanks for Switching to CHI." Families who have switched to CHI from any U.S-based au pair program and accept a CHI au pair within six months from their last au pair. Proof required.

Family-Arranged Au Pair Placement. Families who independently locate an au pair for themselves. The hosting family as well as the au pair must meet all program requirements, complete the application packet and attend all program orientations.

Repeat CHI Au Pair Families. Families, who have successfully completed one full year of CHI Au Pair USA program and within six months of completion, accept another NEW CHI au pair.
